Edwards and Emmess Butchers
Edwards and Emmess Butchers was established, way back, in 1964. Wendy Edwards has been at the market since day one. Alf and Joan Edwards along with Ian Emmess took over in 1984 and three years ago Michael Oldham (a local Knutsford man) joined the company. Edwards and Emmess Butchers is a true success story for the market and have a loyal customer base.
The vast majority of their produce is from local suppliers and farms and they are proud supporters of British Farmers. They supply a number of local restaurants and caterers and specialise in deep-freeze orders – handy if you are planning ahead. You can pre-order items ready to collect, or be delivered and even ask for burgers to be made to order. In addition, Edwards and Emmess sell a range of cooked meats, cheese, eggs and preserves. In these days of on-line shopping they offer a lovely, personal, customer service.
About Edwards and Emmess
Being a butcher and running a butcher’s stall is in their blood. Wendy’s mum used to run a farmer’s market decades ago proving it is really nothing new and that good, honest, local produce never goes out of fashion
Things you may not know about Ian, Wendy and Mike
Ian and Mike are keen fishermen. Wendy has worked on the stall since she was the tender age of 12 (Wendy we salute you!) and when not serving the good folk of Knutsford, keeps busy with her five grandchildren.
